Description

The Canadian Music Theatre Project presented Marathon of Hope, based on the incredible true story of Terry Fox. In the summer of 1980, Terry ran across Canada, a marathon every day to raise money for cancer research and captured the heart of the nation in the process. After 143 days, Terry was forced to end his run when his cancer returned. He passed away on June 28, 1981 at 22 years of age.

A professional cast of actors, in Sheridan’s “theatrical laboratory”, developed this exciting new folk musical about one of Canada’s enduring heroes. Marathon of Hope is presented in collaboration with the family of Terry Fox.

Music and lyrics by John Connolly. Based on the Book by Jim Betts. Orchestrations and arrangements are by Michael Mulrooney.
