Cheryl Vallender
Biography
Cheryl is a contract lecturer at the School of Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a Master of Education degree and a post-graduate Journalism Diploma, along with a BA in English and International Development from Guelph University. Cheryl’s expertise lies in emerging news technology, digital storytelling tools, and data journalism. Her students’ work at Sheridan College has received nominations for prestigious awards, including the Global Editor’s Network Data Journalism Award. Cheryl also contributes to freelance web design when she’s not teaching. Her passion for data visualization aligns well with the theme of knowledge mobilization in the SOURCE awards panel.
