In my design I decided to turn the old mill into a multifunctional Library for the public to enjoy. The spaces in the Library include a coffee shop, classrooms, quite study spaces, and a art gallery for the young artist to show off their work. The east side of the mill has been bumped out to create space for the exit stairs and elevator. This gave me room to design my spaces. The original material of the mill is a bight blue sliding material, so when decide what I wanted to use I went with neutral colours to not having any clashing. Instead I chose a mix of wood sliding and stone veneer to have some Interest and texture without taking away from the original materials.
