Abstract

This study investigated international students' perceptions of academic accommodations provided by institutions in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The research aimed to understand the adequacy and effectiveness of these accommodations from the students' perspective, focusing on satisfaction levels, challenges faced, and suggestions for improvement. Using a quantitative approach, an anonymous survey was completed by 25 international students aged 18-50, enrolled in various academic programs from Certificate to Ph.D. levels. Participants were recruited through email, social media, and word of mouth. The study's significance lay in its potential to enhance the academic experience and success of international students, who contribute to the cultural diversity and global perspectives within the GTA's educational system. By addressing the needs and concerns of this demographic, the research sought to inform improvements in support services and policies, ultimately fostering a more supportive environment for international students.
