Opening the Great West Describes the missionary process and customs of John McDougall in the local Aboriginals in 1875-76. The book tells about the entire signing process of Treaty 6 and the psychological changes of the Indigenous people in it. During this process, John played the role of observer and recorder, and he witnessed the whole thing happening.
