Dr. Sue Fostaty Young; Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning
While her work as an Educational Developer has enabled Sue to become a familiar face at Queen’s University, she’s probably best known for having co-authored Assessment and Learning: The ICE Approach with colleague and professor emeritus Robert Wilson. The ICE approach, a comprehensive yet accessible conception of learning, is popular with both teachers and students. ICE has recently gained international prominence with the publication of a Japanese version of the book which has spurred national discussions on significant educational reform. Just recently having been named as one of its Top 50 alumni in the 50-year history of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Education, Sue is recognized by colleagues and students at home and abroad for her commitment to collaborating with them in their development as educators.
