Fire Station 204
architectural technology, schematic design, renovation, plan drawing, adaptive reuse, building science, studio 6
I wanted to play with light and maximize its use in this building. I used light and dark cladding to mimic the sun's rays falling from the sky in contrast to the shadows below. Several clerestories were added to allow light into the building in the most used areas. The function of the fire station has also been updated by implementing a proper decontamination sequence, and relocating living quarters away from decontaminants.
