Abstract

This research paper explored the mental health challenges for international students studying in Canada. The study aimed to answer the research questions “What are the barriers that are contributing to mental health challenges and difficulties amongst international students in Canada today”? And “What are they key factors contributing to the underutilization of mental health services among international students in Canada?” The study revealed significant challenges which include stress, cultural adjustments, awareness, and more. Utilizing a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with a diverse group of international students to gather insights on their personal experiences with mental health. This research contributes to the existing literature on student mental health and showcases a need for measures to address the challenges faced by international students.
