Sheridan's four-year Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership (HBECL) Program prepares students to become leaders in early childhood education and care. In their fourth year, students conduct a research project on early childhood current topics of their choice. EDUC 44579 Current Issues: Leadership for Quality (Independent Studies) is a 9-credit course that typically takes place in the students’ last semester. In addition to collecting and analyzing data, students also produce a scholarly paper and a poster. Their work is presented at the annual HBECL Research Symposium.
Of the nearly 80 students in the 2020 graduating class, the capstone supervisory team selected 16 posters showcasing and highlighting the students’ exemplary work. Under the guidance of the capstone supervisory team, faculty members Katherine Becker, Alison Gaston, Dhanna Mistri and Michelle Whitehead, the students designed the posters individually or in pairs/threes.
