"This expressive glass façade frames a white marble staircase in the Embassy reception room. Gold and copper leaf are applied in a gestural, calligraphic abstraction that floats across a sandy, coral landscape. Columns of geometric, screen-printed Islamic design are interspersed in the moving sea. The combination of colours and textures case ever-changing light patterns on the marble and glass balustrade. At the end of a long passageway is a turquoise gem evoking the azure colour of the Sea of Kuwait. The delicate windblown reeds draw us towards the corridor's end."
