The Renaming of Dundas: The History of Dundas St, Toronto Ontario

Dundas street, Henry Dundas, slavery in Canada, controversial places
Description
Our project explores who Henry Dundas was, his relationship to Canada, the context of slavery in Canada, and why the place naming of "Dundas street" is currently outdated and racist. In the time of inclusion and the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement, having places named after a man who delayed the abolition of slavery in the 18th century, promotes and condones racism.
