In recognition of Black History Month 2021, Sheridan focused on “Learning and Unlearning: A Commitment to Progress”. We invited members of our diverse community to submit any piece of work that shared their experience and reflection on what Black History Month means to them. We received submissions in the form of photography, creative writing, painting, illustration, and poetry. We selected five winners who received prizes varying from $100 to $500 in value thanks to our generous partners at the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton and Sheridan Alumni. Submissions were accepted until Tuesday, February 16, 2021, and winners were announced on Tuesday February 23, 2021.
