Description
Our Tiki Toki timeline aims to lay out the controversial life and legacy of Lord Jeffrey Amherst, a prominent British Army officer that played a pivotal role in the Seven Years War and Pontiac’s War. Jeffrey Amherst’s legacy has come into question more recently because of the letters he exchanged with Colonel Henry Bouquet, in which Amherst expresses his desire to ‘exterminate’ the Indingenous Peoples during Pontiac’s war by use of smallpox blankets (biological warfare).
