Design Brief

The current streetscape design lacks tree canopy coverage and distinct character, this not encouraging active transportation and reduction of the urban heat island effect. through tactical urbanism methods, we added more tree coverage, material changes, art installations, and lighting to tackle these issues, Furthermore, there is not retail and or food service access. Areas of nearby parks can be transformed into community garden spaces.

Purpose

Explore possible built form interventions to improve community health including access to green space, air quality, access to healthy food, walkability in the west, north, northeastern and central areas of Mississauga.
